Its the boys third birthday already! We decided to have the boys birthday on Thursday night before the long weekend. We invited the usual suspects, and a couple more twins from down the street. We had 4 sets of twins and 2 singletons for a really fun party. It was the best one yet as the kids were all interacting, playing together, and excited to see each other. The boys were the least excited about the whole thing. For some crazy reason the boys hate the "Happy Birthday" song, and cry every time they hear it. We have been practicing and trying to prep them for the moment, hoping that they won't start crying as they did the last 2 birthdays. We even pulled out their cake for a practice run.

They liked the fire truck on the cake

They are clearly trying to hold it together at this point while Trev and I practice singing happy birthday

There was practicing of blowing out candles too
When it came down to it. Cole started whining for his blankie and asking me to pick him up. I knew if we tried to sing they'd just cry so I asked everyone to not bother, and maybe we'd have a birthday without tears. They were still a little too shy with everyone staring at them to blow out the candles but the neighbourhood twins helped out. Phew, I never knew birthdays could be so stressful!
The boys were very into opening the presents though, and for the first time really enjoyed it. The best part is that all the kids that came have birthdays coming up and we get to just relax and enjoy them.
