4000 Baby White Sturgeon

On Monday we went to Castlegar to release baby white sturgeon into the Columbia River.  I have always wanted to go and do this and had it on my radar to take the boys this year, but wasn't sure when it was happening.  Just by chance someone told us that morning that it was that afternoon in Castlegar.  Rick Hansen was there part of his cross canada tour and it was a PD Day so we thought it would be a bit of a gong show so we waited to arrive until after 2 pm  Lots of kids and parents had been there before us and lined the shores to release their fish.  By the time we arrived it had dies down quite a bit and they started giving out quite a few fish at a time.  Our bucket had 5 in it, and i thought great lots of chances for the boys to try.  They liked to touch and poke the fish but they were not picking them up.  Lots of other Rossland kids came by and helped empty our bucket.
