Cole's New Years Resolution

On January 2nd we decided to start the boys on skis.  Grayson had the flu pretty badly and laid on the couch all day but I took Cole up to try out his new skis and boots.  It was a lot more work than I was used to carrying all that extra gear for a kid and trying to figure out how to carry mine too.  Cole was excited about the whole thing, but once the boots and skis were on, he wasn't interested and started crying.  We couldn't even get to the point where he held the ski pole and I pulled him.  Not to push anything and make sure he enjoyed some of it, we went up to the magic carpet and watched Cohen ski down.  Turns out the boys new ski gear is a little big so we went to check out the annual rentals for the boys and realized for this year that was the way to go.  $100 for the year and the gear stays in the rental shop, you just call and say you're coming and they have it all ready outside.  After tears over the boots and skis, we went for hot chocolate (of which Cole didn't even have a sip) which he really liked.  We were back by nap time.  2 hours for 5 minutes of skiing, I guess its a start, they are so young still.

Hot chocolate!!

Poor little Grayson
On January 3rd, while Grayson was still feeling pretty bad, Trev took Cole back up to try again.  This time with the new smaller gear it was easier.  Trev picked Cole up and took him right up the carpet.  They did 3 runs on the carpet and then they went straight over to the chair lift for 2 more runs.  Cole seemed to really like it.  He wasn't really skiing, just riding between Trev's legs, but the important thing is that he liked it.
