I haven't done an update to keep track of how the boys are changing month to month for a while because we are just plain busy and I keep forgetting. So I am not sure even what month we are at. Oh yes, 29 months. They are like sponges right now, picking up language and learning new things everyday. They talk all the time. Almost all of it is understandable. We are trying to get them to say "May I please," before they ask for something, and they are doing well when you remind them, but Cole does the funniest thing. He says " May I (very nicely, but leaves out please), HAVE MORE TOAST (screams with vigour). Its quite funny. They are not quiet boys.
We started a tradition at Purcell Lodge if big pillow piles to jump on and they just keep getter rowdier everytime. Here's a video with their buds Cohen and Eamon. Aah boys.
They are still napping about 2 hours a day. A few times lately a boy has dropped his nap, but that usually has coincided with a morning sleep-in. We are dreading when we lose that time to ourselves. Its been a rough start to the year, with 2 weeks in January of sickness running through the house, and now the first week of February has been the same.
A week ago while my sister was here, Cole was crying really hard for some 2 year old reason, and while changing his diaper on the change table he vomited in his mouth. A little scary as he was lying down, which made him more hysterical= more vomiting. I yelled for Christine to come to the rescue, but she was watching funniest home videos with her kids in the basement, and couldn't hear me above the giggling and laughing. I finally got Cole into the bathroom to get him cleaned up where Grayson was bathing and Cole continued to cry and gag and barf. Once Grayson saw this, he was gagging and barfing. Then he cried hysterically because he barfed and was now bathing in it, and on and on. Hilarious when we look back on it, but OMG that was crazy. It started out a week of hell, with Trev sick and Grayson sick, then Cole sick and his 2 year molars are coming in. So far I am good. Ouch, is it over yet?
They have been skiing about 6 times now, it would be more if we had more time, but we just don't. They can't snowplow, but are doing well standing on their own and gliding along.
Grayson must have the shortest attention span ever, flitting from one thing to another in matter of seconds. Asking for every piece of food he knows one after the other.
They always request that I wear my purple down coat, and do the typical 2 year old whine and cry when I put anything but it on, like its the end of the world. When i come home from work wearing my green puffy they point it out and say I should wear my purple one??? What the?
They are flexing their muscles a bit, and getting very insisitent on things that they want. They will whine and bug you until they get what they want, with little chance of being able to distract them.
They know their colours and can count to two and identify things that are in 2's. Its hard to say if the terrible twos have hit or if they are acting like it becasue they have been sick for weeks now.
