The boys finally figured out my trick with their cribs. When they first started climbing out, I wasn't ready to transition them to big boy beds last summer, so i unscrewed the beds and dropped them to the floor, stuck 2x4 underneath so there wasn't a gap and left their cribs like that. It wasn't until a few days ago that they figured out the could move the bed frame independently of the mattress and climb underneath, or tip it over and escape. I guess our time has run out. So we bolted the beds back together and turned them into toddler beds. So far it has gone pretty well. The first night they missed their naps and were so tired they stayed in there beds and didn't get out until 5 am when they started partying. At 11 pm that night when we checked on them we did find Grayson on the floor, he must have fallen out but not woke up. The second night the babysitter was here as we were going out and they are very shy of him, so they stayed in bed and didn't make a peep in fear that he would come downstairs. They slept until 8 am, not bad. We'll see when we have a day where they have a nap, thats when I see the party really starting. So far so good. We still have the threat of taking away their soothers if they misbehave so that may be encouraging them to follow the rules as they prize those soothers over anything.
