Day 7 Slickrock

After a long day yesterday, Kari and I woke up early for Slickrock.  The guys rode Pipeline last night on a night ride, and therefore it was our turn.  We were out the door early and riding just after 9 am.  The trail was awesome.  It is amazing how your bike and tires stick to the rock and climb so easily.  The ride was so beautiful and scenic, with views of the La Sal Mountains, the Moab Rim and valley, and the Colorado River canyon.  Not to be misleading though, it was also not that easy.  It was 10 miles or so of up, down,up, down, up, down, where the ups were really steep, leaving us walking the very steep sections quite often.  The downhills were so fun though, pick a line and ride down, no trees rocks, or big drops anywhere.  Most of the time we followed the trail marked in white painted dashed lines on the rock, except where it was too steep to climb or more fun elsewhere to descend.  It was a tough ride after yesterday's 30 miles, but you just keep pedaling.
