While the boys took their turn in the morning riding Amasaback, Kari and I took the kids to Bar M for a family ride. Mornings start out cold here in the desert, between 0-5 degrees Celsius, which although it looks beautiful sunny and warm we are all dressed for winter, but it really is beautiful and sunny.

We rode a bit of a loop trail with a downhill at the end, which the kids were all very controlled and no wipeouts, although the boys took off and eventually waited at a sign for us. Thank god its the desert and you can see them far away.
In the afternoon, although tired Kari and I still went for a ride. Luckily we chose a perfect ride for some tired legs. We drove way back out north of town again past Bar M, to Monitor and Merrimac trail. An easy slickrock trail with Hollywood western movie type vistas. It was really beautiful, and the ride a nice spin for a "recovery day". A little history, slickrock, amazing views, sand fun, and even a dinosaur trail complete with fossils in the rock.
